Marc Steiner
Faculty Member
Marc Steiner is a native of Los Angeles, California. He
earned Bachelor, cum laude, and Master of Music degrees from the
University of Southern California. His teachers have included Mildred
Portney Chase and Robert Ward. He continues to study with Nina Scolnik
and Edna Golandsky.
Mr. Steiner has performed extensively as soloist, chamber musician
and duo pianist in recitals throughout the United States. He has
also been a frequent collaborator with the San Francisco based Mirabai
ensemble, which performs an eclectic collection of classical, jazz,
improvised and eastern influenced music.
An active teacher as well as performer, Mr. Steiner has served as
President of the Alameda County Branch of the Music Teachers' Association
of California and is on the board of the Branch's Scholarship Foundation.
A faculty member of the Taubman Institute, he maintains his private
studio in Oakland, California, and teaches on a regular basis in
Los Angeles and Chico, California.
